Preventing Childhood Injuries Facilitator’s Guide and Video

Developed with the support of the WA Department of Health, this resource is designed to assist child health educators in delivering sessions on child safety to parents and carers of children aged 0 to 5 years. The resource provides a session plan for facilitators to guide them in delivering a session, along with a USB with a video to play to participants covering a range of child injury topics. The video provided on the USB is split into two chapters based on children’s age and stage of development and relays information covered in the session plan.

Keeping Kids Safe: A Professional Teaching Tool - Multicultural Resource

This flip chart aims to assist educators, group facilitators and health professionals with facilitating group discussion and raising awareness around preventing childhood injuries. The flip chart covers a range of child injury issues through images and illustrations, while providing background information, key messages, group discussion points and a list of organisations and resources for further information. This resource is targeted towards multicultural communities.

Watch Out for Your Kids Day and Night: A Professional Resource Tool - Aboriginal Resource

This is a flip chart which can be used by professionals working with Aboriginal parents and carers to facilitate discussion around child injury prevention. The tool covers a range of child injury issues and provides a visual aspect showing correct and incorrect images, along with information for the facilitator to cover background information, key messages and discussion points specific to each injury issue.
