Electricity is an essential part of our lives but often it is only when the power goes out that we realise how important it is. It can also be a dangerous product, so Horizon Power has partnered with Kidsafe WA to further promote electrical safety.
The holiday period is an exciting time for children, however unfortunately this is also a time when injuries to children can increase. This time of year involves countless gatherings and celebrations where supervision of children can lapse.

Electrical safety will be in focus for Kimberley children when a partnership between Kidsafe WA and Horizon Power visits the region this June.

Over the past five years injuries to teens and pre-teens have steadily increased. As children mature, so to do their physical and cognitive abilities, however it is important to remember that children, including teens and pre-teens are not just small adults.
New data released by Kidsafe WA, with the support of the Western Australian Department of Health shows over 18,000 injury presentations were made to the PMH ED between July 2015 and June 2016.
