Baby Safety Seminars provide expectant parents with information on safety considerations when preparing for baby’s arrival. The session provides an overview of childhood injuries, home safety tips, a child car restraint fitting demonstration, safe sleeping tips, tips for staying mentally healthy during the antenatal and postnatal period and a tour of Kidsafe WA’s Safety Demonstration House. These sessions are supported by Britax.


GeneralFarm Safety Workshops

This workshop provides an overview of the most common causes of farm injuries in children and methods to reduce the risk of these injuries. Runs for approximately 30 minutes.


GeneralKeeping Kids Safe Workshops

This workshop provides a practical overview of child safety and covers topics relating to safety at home, during play, on the road and tips for staying mentally healthy during the antenatal and postnatal period. This interactive presentation provides practical steps on how to reduce the risk of injuries such as strangulation, poisoning, falls, burns, child car restraints and driveway safety, also covering relevant basic first aid. Runs for approximately 60 minutes.


HomeSafety Demonstration House Guided Tours

The Safety Demonstration House is available to tour for parents, professionals, student groups, and anyone interested in child safety. Guided tours include a presentation on child safety and a walk through the Safety Demonstration House. See examples of how to set up a home safely to reduce the risk of child injuries. Tours run for approximately 45 minutes. Public Guided Tours are run every second month or bookings can be made for groups on request.


RoadChoosing and Using Child Car Restraints Workshop

The information session addresses the most common questions asked by parents and carers on passenger safety. Session runs for approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour.


RoadBack to Basics: Transporting children safely on every trip

This 3 hour professional development workshop provides a 1 hour child car restraint update presentation and a 2 hour practical skills session.


PlayNature Play Workshop

This workshop explores ways to create playspaces that support children’s development, learning and wellbeing and provide opportunities for them to explore and connect with nature in a safe environment. The importance of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards are discussed in this workshop. Workshop runs for approximately 1.5 hours. Suitable for local government employees, schools, parents, community groups, education and care, landscape architects and designers.


PlayPlayground Inspection and Maintenance Workshop

This workshop aims to reduce playground injuries through increased understanding of the current Playground Safety Standards. This hands-on workshop covers what to look for when checking playgrounds for safety hazards and includes on-site inspections using relevant inspection tools. Workshop can be tailored to meet your needs and can be run over half a day or over 2 full days. Suitable for local government employees, parks supervisors, maintenance staff, landscape design staff and risk managers.


PlayPlayground Maintenance for Education & Care

This workshops aims to reduce playground injuries through increased understanding of the current Playground Safety Standards and adoption of assessment and inspection techniques that comply with Australian Playground Standards. Half to full day workshops available. Suitable for school staff addressing the maintenance of school playgrounds.


ProfessionalProfessional Development Workshops

This workshops provides an overview of the latest child injury statistics in Western Australia, the most common risks of injury, emerging issues and an overview of programs and services available to help promote child safety. Runs for approximately 45 minutes.


ProfessionalSchool Incursions

Keeping WA Kids Safe is an interactive incursion for year 1, 2 and 3 students led by Kidsafe WA. Sessions take place in the classroom and run for 40 minutes, covering key injury prevention topics including safety at home, at play and on the road.
