This year, Playground Safety Week will take place from the 18th to 22nd April.
Playground Safety Week aims to promote safe and creative play opportunities for children of all ages and abilities.
On average, 10 children are injured in a playground in WA each week!
Playground safety is a joint responsibility of playspace providers, community members and playground users. Let's work together during Playground Safety Week to keep our kids safe at play!

To keep your kids safe in the playground:
Encourage safe play rules
Report damage & hazards to playground providers
Use age appropriate play equipment
Supervise children while they play
Ways to get involved in Playground Safety Week 2011:
* Conduct a playground safety check using our checklist
* Explore a new playground - check out what is in your local area
* Ask children what they would want in a new playground - their answers may surprise you!
* Discuss safe play behaviours with children
* Get your hands dirty: go for a bushwalk, climb a tree, roll down a grassy hill or make mud pies. Play doesn't have to be limited to equipment!
