Nature Play Workshops

Nature play workshops cover ways to create playspaces that support children’s development, learning and wellbeing and provide opportunities for them to explore and connect with nature in a safe environment. The importance of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards are discussed in this workshop.


Playground Maintenance for School

This one day workshop is aimed at school staff, addressing the maintenance of school playgrounds. This workshop covers basic knowledge of the Australian Standards requirements and the development of a maintenance checklist.


Keeping Kids Safe

This provides a practical overview of child safety and is a good option for groups wanting to focus on more than one child injury prevention topic. This workshop covers topics relating to safety at home, during play and on the road. It is an interactive presentation and provides practical steps on how to reduce the risk of injuries such as strangulation, poisoning, falls, burns, child car restraints and driveway safety, also covering relevant first aid. Farm Safety Workshop

As a farm is both a home and a workplace, the number of potential hazards can be greater than that found in a typical home. The Farm Safety Workshop provides an overview of the most common causes of farm injuries in children and methods to reduce the risk of these injuries. Runs for approximately 30 minutes.


Professional Development Workshop

This provides an overview of the latest child injury statistics in Western Australia, the most common risks of injury, emerging issues and an overview of programs and services available to help promote child safety.


Back to Basics: Transporting Children Safely on Every Trip

This 3 hour session is structured to provide a 1 hour child car restraint update covering why we need child car restraints, importance of correctly installing and adjusting them for each child, overview of legislation and standards and then a 2 hour practical skills session giving participants the opportunity to select, adjust and install the restraints they use for service delivery in the vehicles they use for transporting children.

NB.This workshop does not give you a qualification. To be eligible to host this session in your workplace, you must have at least 1 staff member who is a Type 1 child car restraints installer to provide ongoing support.

Child Restraint Education Workshop
This workshop is suitable for child care staff, family day care staff or anyone who has to transport children as part of their job role using a specific fleet of vehicles and limited makes & models of restraints. This one day workshop will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to install and select suitable child car restraints from a specific range of restraints for transporting children in their care.

NB. This workshop does not enable you to be registered as a Type 1 child car restraint installer but can be delivered as an accredited workshop, aligned with the single unit of competency RSCICR301A. Workshop cost is $220pp.
