Sport Safety 101 Webinar: Preventing Injury in Junior Sport

Each year an average of 4,000 children attend the Perth Children’s Hospital Emergency Department due to a sports-related injury, accounting for almost a quarter of all injury presentations. Sport and physical activity are a vital part of childhood development, allowing children to improve physical, cognitive and social skills with others. Injury risks however, are often perceived as a barrier to participation. An estimated 50 percent of sporting injuries are considered to be preventable.

Kidsafe WA will be running a Sport Safety Webinar on Tuesday the 16th of March from 10am-11am AWST via Zoom. The webinar is appropriate for volunteers, parents and carers of children involved with a local community sporting club. The aim of the webinar is to provide you with information on sports injury in children, methods for prevention and the range of resources Kidsafe WA has available to assist you and your club further.

If you or your sporting club are interesting in attending this webinar please register here https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_VNL629SMSU67cAvrKLszEw or email Ivana@kidsafewa.com.au for details. Please note registration is required. If you are unable to make the scheduled time, a recording of the webinar will also be provided to all who register.
