Childhood Injury Insights: Turning Data into Prevention

Kidsafe WA produces a range of bulletins and reports covering key childhood injury topics based on injury surveillance data collected at the Perth Children’s Hospital Emergency Department (PCH ED). As the only dedicated paediatric hospital in Western Australia, PCH sees approximately 20,000 injury presentations each year. This provides a valuable evidence base for identifying local trends, causes, injury locations, risk factors and other circumstances around childhood injury in WA.

For professionals working in health, childcare or other sectors supporting children and families, these publications offer current, practical evidence to inform injury prevention initiatives within the community. In December, Kidsafe WA will release two new publications: a research report examining sport-related injuries in children, and a bulletin on injuries related to toys and play equipment. To be notified when these reports are released, you can join our Injury Surveillance Mailing List.

To learn more about Kidsafe WA’s partnership with PCH ED and how our publications can support your work, we invite you to attend our upcoming webinar in February.
