WA Consumer Product Advocacy Network
The WA Consumer Product Advocacy Network (WA CPAN) is a newly formed group driven by Kidsafe WA and supported by the Department of Health Western Australia.
The purpose of this group is to identify emerging injury issues associated with unsafe products, with a primary focus on products used by children. Products identified through this program are prioritised according to the level of injury risk and associated safety concerns, and then an action plan to support advocacy for changes can be documented.
This group consists of representatives from various organisations including the Department of Health WA, Perth Children’s Hospital Emergency Department, UWA Burns Injury Research Unit, Australian Competition & Consumer Commission, Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety, WA Poisons Information Centre and Goodstart Early Learning.
